Liliana Ortega Garza
Liliana Ortega Garza is a Mechanical Engineer from the Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico, with a MA in Design and Environment from Goldsmiths College.
She is currently a PhD student in the Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering Department at UCL. Her research focuses in finding ways to motivate people to choose walking as a mean of transportation. She is developing tools to understand how people perceive public spaces and construct the image of a place. Beyond the physical infrastructure of a city, experiences, memories, and senses are key in determining how people feel about their environment.
Besides her research, she is interested in community engagement projects as well as the use of art to reactivate public spaces.
