Mika is currently working on the City Health Diplomacy project at STEaPP for the WHO, a research program aimed at strengthening current WHO health governance by empowering city leadership in health diplomacy.
Prior to joining UCL STEaPP, she worked as a research assistant on a Japanese Cabinet Office funded project on elderly employment in urban areas in conjunction with the Oxford Institute for Ageing, and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tokyo, Japan.
Mika has recently completed an an MSc in International Relations at The LSE, writing her thesis on the WHO International Health Regulations. She holds an undergraduate degree in Japanese with readings in Economics from the University of Oxford (BA Oxon. 2014) with a dissertation on funding healthcare in Japan's rapidly ageing economy.
